I infuse personality and SEO to get you the blog results you've been looking for. Want to learn about how we can work together?
What type of freebie is your go-to? I have two right now: a template and a resource. Maybe you have an ebook, guide, training video, or free trial. I now have a third lead magnet: an Interact quiz!
It took me a few hours to make, which, in my experience, is much less than other lead magnets. It was fun to think creatively about my audience and my business goals. I want to share my experience with creating an Interact quiz, so maybe you can make one, too!
Psst… You can take my new quiz here!
I don’t know about you, but I’ve always thought of lead magnets as PDF guides, ebooks, or templates. That’s what I’ve always downloaded as a consumer and created as a business owner.
Duo Collective introduced me to the concept of quizzes as freebies. I thought engaging audiences this way was a fun idea, so I decided to challenge myself and try something new. Creating a quiz as a freebie allowed me to think creatively outside the box. A quiz requires you to think strategically about what you want your audience to get out of it and relate it to your services somehow.
I just think it’s a fun way to create something valuable for your audience!
Thinking of a topic idea is probably the hardest part of creating your Interact quiz! Duo Collective’s podcast episode about this really helped me start brainstorming topic ideas. They recommend asking yourself a few questions:
After considering these questions, I decided to go with the topic “How Often Should You Be Blogging?” It’s something I get asked all the time. It’s a fun quiz that helps my audience learn something about themselves, and it connects perfectly with my blog writing services.
Don’t get too hung up on topic ideas. I know you want to think of the perfect topic that will get you hundreds of new leads, but it’s better to just go with your gut and pick one quickly so you can start creating it. You learned a lesson if it flops and will do better next time!
Let’s get to how I actually designed my Interact quiz. The platform made everything SO easy! You can choose to start from scratch, from a template, or generate a quiz with AI. I chose to start from a template. There are tons to pick from! My template had seven questions and three results, but you can add more or less if you want.
I used ChatGPT to help me formulate questions and answers for my quiz. Here is the prompt I used if you want to use it!
I’m creating an online quiz as a free offer to improve lead generation. The topic is: how often should you be blogging to meet your growth goals. What are 10 questions I can ask to help them get an answer?
I picked a few from the 10 questions it gave me, and they also sparked my own ideas. I entered my seven questions and answers into the quiz. Then, you have to correlate the answers to a result. Interact makes this step easy. You can choose multiple answers to correlate to one result, or you don’t even have to correlate an answer to a result if you don’t want to. It’s all very customizable.
Next, I had to think of the three quiz results. I also used ChatGPT to come up with the results. It gave me four results, but I narrowed it down to three because I didn’t agree with the fourth result.
I will say that you really have to know your audience for the results section. It’s so annoying when you get quiz results that don’t relate to you. So, it will take some time to think about the questions, answers, and results and how they all work together.
My template included space to explain why they got their results and what they mean, three tips to get started, and a little bio section for me and my business. I didn’t even THINK about this before starting my quiz, but it makes total sense. You want to educate them on why they received their results and how you can help them get started. You’re proving your expertise by providing a few tips to get started if they want to DIY and some information to work with you if they want to go that route.
This is why the results section took me the longest, but it’s also the most strategic part of the Interact quiz. You’re creating this quiz to get more leads, right? So, you want to educate your audience and sell them your services. I liked the format the Interact quiz template gave me because it didn’t feel super salesy. You’re just explaining their results and how you play a part in helping them pursue their goals.
After all the content was in Interact, I started branding the quiz. I added my brand colors, photos, and fonts. I love it when I can customize a template to look like my brand! Interact made this step super easy.
Now, let’s make sure you capture the contact information for all your new leads! The form will be at the end of the quiz. They have to submit their name and email (or whatever other fields you want to include) before they can see their results.
Here are the steps:
It’s super easy! Then, on your email platform, you’ll have to set up an automated email to send when they complete their quiz. You can either send one general email thanking them for completing your quiz and any additional steps or have an automated email for each quiz result. It depends on your goals and how you want to nurture your audience.
I chose option 2, which made this step pretty time-consuming. To make it highly targeted and relevant, I wanted a different automated email series for each quiz result.
Don’t forget to promote your new Interact quiz lead magnet! You can’t get new leads and subscribers without some promotion. These are a few ways you can share your Interact quiz freebie:
