Copywriting Course Review: Site Series with Between the Lines Copy

Community

I’ve followed Sara at Between the Lines Copy for almost my entire entrepreneurial journey. We even worked together for a short time in 2021! I look up to her as a leader in the copywriting space. Sara is a master of words and relating to people. Her audience is a loyal, engaging fanbase, something every entrepreneur strives to have.

So when I was relaunching my business in early 2024, I knew I needed to take Site Series, her website copywriting course. I had already decided to offer blog writing and SEO services. I had previously taken Duo Collective’s SEO on Tap course so I had the SEO background, but I wanted to learn how to write my website copy. I knew more went into it than writing about my offers. There are important strategies to convince your audience to work with you. The blog writing chapter was just a bonus 😉

I learned all that and more in Site Series. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the course to, really, any business owner, but she specifically markets it to web designers and other copywriters.

Site Series Course Structure and Content

Let’s talk about what you’ll actually learn in Site Series. I came into the course already offering blog writing services so I had a decent understanding of writing foundations. Module one was a refresher for me (but I still learned a few things!) Module four was also a little refresher from SEO on Tap.

I learned the most in module two. It has SO many videos (75 last time I counted!) and is basically a step-by-step walkthrough to write your website. This module is worth the price alone.

Here is a breakdown of the course content:

  • Module 1: Copywriting Basics
  • Module 2: Website Copywriting
  • Module 3: Launching Your Website
  • Module 4: SEO
  • Module 5: Pinterest
  • Module 6: Blogging
  • Module 7: Email Marketing

Pinterest, blogging, and email marketing? Yep! She doesn’t stop at website copy. Sara looks at your business with a holistic view. If you have a form or freebie on your website, you will probably be investing in email marketing. The best thing for SEO is blogging. You can promote your blog on Pinterest. It all works together. She also brings in guest experts for some of these lessons, which is an added bonus.

Sara’s Teaching Style

Sara is very engaging in her videos, so they were easy to binge-watch. I finished modules 1, 2, and 4, the three biggest lessons, in about a month. I spent 1-2 hours after work every day watching her videos and then doing the homework. This method worked well for me. I watched the video on how to do something, then did it myself for my new website.

She also provides TONS of examples throughout the course. No matter your industry, business size, service provider, or e-commerce, she has an example for you. I liked this about the course; sometimes one example wouldn’t resonate with me, but the next one clicked.

Sara cuts out the crap. She doesn’t fluff topics for the sake of making a longer video (she is a self-proclaimed yapper.) She doesn’t stay surface-level, either. You’re getting details on details on details (with a few tangents thrown in 😂)

I’ve followed Sara on Instagram and have been on her email list for years. It gave me a good idea of what her teaching style would be like before enrolling in Site Series. If this is the first you’re hearing of Sara at Between the Lines Copy, check out her free resources

Copywriting Course Results

Well, obviously I have a website that I wrote, so that’s cool. I had previously DIY’d my old website and looking back at that copy compared to now… yikes. Site Series made me more confident in my business and offerings. I didn’t wing it this time. There was a strategy behind my website and how I was talking to my audience.

I invest a lot of time in SEO for my website. Writing weekly blogs, constantly monitoring my analytics, implementing a backlink strategy… Since I was starting over with no authority with Google, I knew this was a key piece to my business’s growth. Her SEO module gave me new strategic ideas to grow my business and make sure my website is set up for success.

Pricing and Value

It’s definitely an investment that you should consider before jumping into. Be confident you’ll actually take the course and implement what you learn (unlike me SEVERAL times before this – I cringe at my bad business investments.)

Like I said before, module two alone is worth the price, but then you get six other modules PLUS all these bonuses:

  • 1:1 access to Sara via Slack
  • Quarterly live group coaching calls
  • Website copy review video (I loved getting her feedback on my website when I was done drafting it!)
  • Templates
  • Workbooks
  • Planners
  • Guides

Site Series is packed with value. As long as you can commit, you won’t regret this investment.
